Behind every good man is a good woman. And behind every good man’s bike is… the same woman?? Well, this is true at least for this bike at least. It’s not often we have the wife of a potential customer in the shop giving full approval for a custom build. But it’s definitely a welcome occurrence. So it’s only fitting her name was artfully branded across the tank for all to see, hand painted by super-talented local tattoo artist Squid, of Bad Apples Tattoo Emporium.
On ya, Charlotte.

The brief from the owner (and his lovely wife) was relatively simple – a Street 500 trimmed right back, blacked out, that was still comfortable to ride on the daily. So rather than chopping the bike in half and hardtailing it, as we’ve done with several previous Street 500 builds, we opted to keep it on the rear shocks, and go for more of a cafe racer look than a traditional bobber.
Thin spoked wheels adding a little bit of retro to this modern custom, forward controls (he’s a tall fella), hand made custom exhaust, and custom seat with enough room for the better half to perch atop.
The end result is a sleek, stylish, modern racer.

“Like soldiers, march on. If we can make it through tonight, we’ll see the sun. March on, march on…”
