Doppio
1974 HONDA XL350
The best things in life come in pairs. Couldn’t be truer for the 2 old Honda XL’s we had the pleasure of chopping up and bringing back to life. This is the 2nd of the two (the other being Macchiato), and whilst they are clearly siblings they certainly have their own individual styling, light & dark.

The motors for both bikes had been rebuilt and revived back to their former glory, so our task was to turn them both into a couple of classy cafe racers. The brief for Doppio was “Black. ALL black.” Done!
With no battery to rely on, kickstart only, both bikes are the epitome of a cafe racer – stripped right back to the bare essentials.

“It’s all in the grind. Can’t be too fine, can’t be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science.”
– Ewan McGregor (Black Hawk Down, 2001)
