2013 Triumph Bonneville Cafe Racer
When Alistair rolled his beautiful Bonneville into our showroom, we immediately had reservations about chopping up such a beautiful bike. As you’d expect of a late model Trumpy, it was exceptionally clean. Then he showed us some pics he’d saved as inspiration for the build, and – well, the rest is history.
Let’s start with the unique red frame – this SE version of the Bonneville was released from the factory with the eye-catching matte-red frame, so rather than strip it off and powdercoat it in black (like the client’s inspiration designs), we thought we’d embrace it and keep it as a feature. Love it or hate it, you gotta admit it stands out!

Alistair was also a fan of our Copperhead build, and wanted a similar finish to his tank. We were unsure on how it would look combined with the red frame, but now it’s finished it’s definitely been growing on us day by day.
The donor bike came in with standard alloy rims, which wouldn’t do – so we sourced some lovely spoked rims and wrapped them in Avon Roadrider rubber.
The rear shocks were sourced from local performance specialists Gazi Suspension – we used their top of the range Hyper X adjustable piggy back shocks finished in Black.
An old bicycle headlight was re-purposed and wired up as the taillight, sitting within the unique, hand fabricated tail section of the bike. Low key, classy LED indicators were sourced from the lads at Purpose Built Moto.
